Spring, a time of year welcomed by most with birds chirping, flowers blooming and new growth all around.
Just as nature reflects the change of season our homes should too. While this may feel like an overwhelming task, it doesn't need to be. Here are a few tips to keep your home current without feeling overwhelmed or a strain on your pocket.

1. Keep a neutral base. A neutral base will offer you versatility and ease season to season. Larger pieces of furniture in whites, tans or grays will give you more options and longevity of your purchase. Have a great structural piece but don't like the fabric? Consider a slipcover as a more cost effective way to add versatility to your room.
2. Throw pillows are a great way to transform a living space from season to season. Pillows have a great impact on esthetic of the room and are relatively inexpensive.
3. Accessories are some of the most important items you can use in your home to help revamp your space. Spring accessories should be lite and airy, spring greens, whites, blues and yellows. Use the pallet given to us in nature to paint the picture within your home. Large white vase with blooms and greens from outside are a great way to bring life to your dining table. Fresh cut flowers in a vase on top of a stack of books in the entry way etc.
4. Clear out. Only keep what you love. Store what's not needed for the season. Simplify.
5. Don't forget the outside. Curb appeal is important for you as the homeowner and especially important for potential buyers. Simple pots mixed with hearty greens and blooming flowers are pleasing to the eye and welcoming.

Your home should be your haven. It should be a place where you love being and welcomes others with ease. A place where your story is told season to season.
